Solar flare and CME prediction-Evolution of pre-flare and CME patterns

Paolo Romano (INAF), la Dott.ssa Marianna Korsós (Aberystwyth University, UK) terrà un seminario dal titolo Solar flare and CME prediction-Evolution of pre-flare and CME patterns.

Abstract. Strong solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) can have a major impact on life and modern technological infrastructure present in Space or on Earth. In this presentation, first, we briefly review the flare and CME phenomena and outline the roles of flares and CMEs in the Space Weather. Next, we address newly discovered pre-flare and pre-CME behavioural patterns of the (i) horizontal magnetic field gradient, and, (ii) helicity flux in ARs.
