Single Top at the LHC

Description
While the top quark is mainly produced in pairs, via strong interaction, at the LHC it is possible to study single top electroweak production. In this seminar recent single top production results from the CMS experiment will be presented, in particular the first observation and cross-section measurement of single top associated production with a W boson in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV.
