SOLAR PHYSICS
The research activity of Prof. Francesca Zuccarello concerns the study of magnetic phenomena occurring in the solar atmosphere and the interactions of the magnetized plasma with the circumterrestrial environment, with particular reference to cosmic rays. These activities have been carried out through the participation in important projects and experiments, conducted by major international collaborations:
- Solar physics: project EUROPEAN SOLAR TELESCOPE (EST), (EST), which involves the construction of the largest European solar telescope (4-meter primary mirror) in the Canary Islands
- Cosmic-Ray physics: Auger experiment at the Pierre Auger Observatory in Malargüe, Mendoza province, Argentina
- UV emission: Mini-Euso experiment in the framework of the JEM-EUSO project.
- National Representative in the project EUROPEAN SOLAR TELESCOPE (EST)
- Member of EST SAG
- Deputy Director for internal didactic at DFA
- Member of the Board of the European Solar Physics Division of the European Physical Society
