I took my bachelor's and master's degree in Theoretical Physics at the University of Bologna. For my master's thesis, I carried out research at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich, in the string theory group led by Prof. Dieter Lust. I worked on a cosmological braneworld scenario which is deeply connected with string theory and represents a viable alternative to string compactifications in order to obtain an expanding (de Sitter) universe. I have now started the PhD at the University of Catania.
My research activity deals with the interplay between cosmology and quantum gravity in the context of the Swampland program. In particular, there are many aspects of early- and late-time cosmology which are influenced by quantum effects of gravity and studying these connections is a crucial step to narrow predictions for cosmological observables and to gain a better insight into the nature of quantum gravity.
