In 2010, I graduated in Electronics Engineering at the University of Catania, Italy. My specialization is in automation and robotics. During my thesis, I started a multi-year collaboration with STMicroelectronics. My interests in sensors and smart systems brought me to deepen my knowledge with a postgraduate specialization in Nanotechnology and Sustainable Energies. The thesis focused on characterization of sensors and ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) for flexible and disposable electronics.
I have skills and 5-year track record designing and developing Embedded Systems on low power and ARM-based microcontrollers (e.g. STM8, STM32). From 2013 to 2016, I collaborated with the Department of Physics and Chemistry of the University of Palermo, as Research Support Engineer and supporting design and engineering work to large companies (e.g. STMicroelectronics) and various SMEs.
Since the end of 2016 to 2018, I was hired by DEC s.r.l. as Technical Project Manager, involved in project, construction of prototypes, testing and consulting in customers' activities.
In 2017, I got a position for a PhD in Material Science and Nanotechnologies, funded by CNR (Italian National Research Council). My research activities deal with functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy and Diffuse Optical Tomography.
