Silvia SCALISI
Since February 2024, I have been a fixed-term researcher (RTD-a) at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Catania in S.C. 02/D1 – S.S.D. FIS/07.
My research activity occurs within the Biophysics group (Fluorescence Nanoscopy and Dynamics Lab) in the context of developing super-resolution optical microscopy and quantitative image analysis methods.
After the Master's Degree in Biomolecular Chemistry at the University of Catania, I obtained a PhD scholarship from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Genoa at the Nanoscopy&NIC@IIT group, where I carried out a project focused on single-molecule optical microscopy. After obtaining my PhD in Physics in 2020 from the University of Genoa, I worked as a Post Doc at the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) of the University of Trento for two years in the group of Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics. Five months before my appointment as RTD-a, I joined Prof. Lanzanò's group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy in Catania as a Post Doc.
