Learning Objectives
The course aims to introduce the student to the analysis techniques in Nuclear and High Enrgy Physics and to provide the fundamental of object-oriented programming.
Students will acquire experiences with the main software tools used in the analysis of real physics case, with particular emphasyis devoted to the statistical approach. Moreover he will gain in critical skills facing the programming and analysis issue during practical session in laboratory.
Communication of the acquired skill will be developed thanks to the direct programming during the practical exam and to the expositions of theoretical items discussed during lessons.
Autonomous prosecution of studying will be stimulated by the needing of developping analysis codes for the following work of data analysis to be done for master thesis work
Course Structure
Classes on theoretical parts
Practical sessions in computer science laboratory to practice in program writing
Should the circumstances require online teaching, appropriate modifications to what is hereby stated may be introduced, in order to achieve the main objectives of the course.
Exams may take place online, depending on circumstances.
